Episode 3 with Danny Meyerend
Cat's out the bag, the new pod is out! We got another fantastic episode of "Very Interesting..."
On today's episode, Chris is joined by PNW-based comedian and PhD graduate Danny Meyerend. Danny is a PhD graduate from the media and communication department at the University of Michigan. He studied the intersections of race, media, and technology - specifically focusing on Black identity and racial formation in the US.
He also does comedy all over the PNW, and was most recently on the road opening for Zack Fox. He doesn’t talk about being a doctor on stage, because people are immediately disappointed when they find out he’s not a medical doctor, but he’ll find a way to make it work soon.
Join us as we dive deep into Danny's dissertation, the intricacies of being biracial, the representation of Blackness in media, growing up religious, and why technology should not go unregulated.
Give Danny a follow and check out his comedy and dissertation!
