Episode 5 with Mariah Lee
And here we are, the final episode of the first season of “Very Interesting…” From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to everyone who watched, listened, left a rating or a review, shared with friends, this has been a project I’ve wanted to make for a long time and it means the world that you took time to support! To be determined when, but I do want to make a second season. Follow me on Instagram (@chrismejiacomedy) to stay updated on when that will be!
You know I had to end the season with a fantastic guest! On today’s episode, I’m joined by professional soccer player Mariah Lee. Mariah is a five-year professional soccer player currently with DC Power FC of the USL Super League, American’s newest top-flight soccer league kicking off August 16, 2024. There are 8 teams in the inaugural season and all games will be streamed on Peacock!
She is also a freelance writer who specializes in the intersection of sport, race, and gender. Mariah played college soccer at Stanford University and Wake Forest University where she received a B.A. and M.S. respectively before playing across Europe, Australia, and the US.
Join us as we discuss what’s it’s like being a pro athlete, playing internationally, the mental fortitude it takes to rise to the occasion, and the state of women’s sports and how we can support female athletes.
Give Mariah a follow, go see her play for the DC Power FC, and go read her column!
